Mole Removal

What is Mole Removal  ?

Mole removal is a surgical procedure that is used to remove a mole, or nevus, from the skin. Moles are common, benign (noncancerous) growths on the skin that are made up of cells called melanocytes. Most people have moles, and they can appear anywhere on the body.

There are several reasons why someone might choose to have a mole removed, including for cosmetic reasons, to have a mole checked for cancer, or to remove a mole that is causing irritation or other problems. Moles can be removed using a variety of techniques, including excision, shave excision, cryotherapy, and laser removal.

The specific technique used to remove a mole will depend on the size and location of the mole and the preference of the doctor or patient. Mole removal is typically a simple and straightforward procedure that can be performed in a doctor's office or outpatient clinic. After the mole is removed, the area may be sore, red, and swollen for a few days, but most people are able to resume their normal activities within a few days of the procedure.
