Hair Transplantation

What is Hair Transplantation ?

Hair transplantation is a surgical procedure that is used to restore hair growth in areas of the scalp that are thinning or balding. It is a permanent solution for hair loss and can be used to treat a variety of conditions, including male pattern baldness, female pattern hair loss, and scarring alopecia.

There are several different techniques that can be used for hair transplantation, including follicular unit transplantation (FUT) and follicular unit extraction (FUE). In FUT, a strip of skin is removed from the back of the head and the hair follicles are extracted and transplanted to the thinning or balding area. In FUE, individual hair follicles are extracted from the back of the head and transplanted to the thinning or balding area one at a time.

Hair transplantation is typically performed by a dermatologist, plastic surgeon, or other trained medical professional. The procedure can take several hours to several days, depending on the extent of the hair loss and the technique being used. After the procedure, the transplanted hair will fall out, but it will regrow within a few months. Most people are able to return to work and other normal activities within a few days of the procedure.
